If you haven’t heard yet (just kidding, we know you have), there are new requirements from the Financial Accounting Standards Board on the Measurement of Credit Losses on Financial Instruments. It doesn’t go into effect until 2021 for credit unions, but there’s a lot of work that needs to be done to be prepared to estimate credit losses over the life of your loan portfolio.
