They are: PCI-DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) and EMV (Europay, MasterCard and Visa) chip card technology.
PCI-DSS is a set of policies and procedures intended to optimize the security of credit, debit and cash card transactions and protect cardholders against misuse of their personal information. EMV is a global standard for "chip" cards used at ATMs and point of sale terminals for authenticating card transactions.
