Nationwide, more than 1,200 credit unions offer programs designed to help members build a positive credit score. That number is steadily increasing as credit unions are finding that financial education is a critical component of any credit builder program.

WESTconsin Credit Union and PrimeTrust Federal Credit Union refer their members to GreenPath Debt Solutions’ Accel program as part of their credit builder loan programs. Not only do members benefit from the education they receive from speaking with a certified financial counselor, the credit unions have found that referring members to the program can make their employees’ jobs easier and improve the credit union’s bottom line.
