A free white paper from JMFA and CUNA Strategic Services.
Over the past several years, regulators have clearly indicated they expect transparency and full disclosure from financial institutions when it comes to consumer products. Likewise, consumer groups and the news media have focused a great deal of time calling out financial institutions that market products that are difficult to understand and include non-disclosed practices that result in increased fees for account holders.
And while regulators and consumer advocates continue their discussions on new rules regarding how consumer financial products should be structured, both groups agree that full disclosure can provide consumers with the type of fair, transparent tools they need to maintain financial stability.
